I luv Google Stuff
OK, so I put this site up and I promote it a little bit and I sit back and wait for my first Google Horror Story to appear. So imagine my excitement when after only few hours I see 1 article pending review. I excitedly clicked on the link only to find that someone has written this sappy crappy story about how Google saved their life and gave them happiness. Now, I'm not going to call them a liar, but they did post it anonymously, so I am not going to approve it. Nor am I going to approve any article that is a love story for Google.
This is not a fair and balanced forum where we debate the pros and cons of using Google. That is not what this site is about. It could be had I chosen to go that route but I did not. Neither is this an "I hate Google" or "Google Sucks" site. This site is simply a place where people who have been burned by Google can share their stories.
So, please don't post articles that explain how you used Google to find your lost pet or how you made a mint using Google adsense. I know that those stories are out there. I know that Google helps millions of people every day do business on the web. I don't hate Google and I still use Google for searches and other things.
All that being said, The Google Corporate machine is not standing by it's own code, "You can make money without doing evil", which is #6 on their Philosophy page http://www.google.com/corporate/tenthings.html.
There are hundreds if not thousands of web site owners who have been burned by Google. Many have had their sites disappear completely from the Google index. Others have seen their PR go down to 0 overnight. Others have had advertising rejected because they don't tow the same political line that the elitists at Google do. There are thousands of stories out there all disconnected and just floating on the web. This site is intended to be a repository for those stories, a place where people can see the other side of the story and get a more complete picture of Google.
And in the process, I would like to see this site effect positive change at Google. For instance, one of things that I would like to see happen is for Google to actually have a customer/publisher service division where there are real people who will actually help resolve conflicts, instead of allowing our pleas to go unanswered.
So anyways, please don't post articles that are pro google or I love google or any of that. Those kind of submissions will be rejected.
